Surprisingly, some organic or natural ingredients can harm your skin and also severely damage marine life. Biodegradable is meaningless as things may degrade and still do harm.
We tested a range of sunscreen ingredients and first identified those that would give your skin broad-spectrum and photo-stable protection. Meaning that they would protect you from the most harmful rays and also work better for longer.
Working with one of the world’s leading marine scientists, we also identified those that would leave delicate and fragile marine organisms intact. Once selected, we made a final product and again tested this in its entirety. It passed. This body of scientific work was used to make a patent application. Once this was independently peer-verified it was passed resulting in Sôvée having world’s only patented eco-compatible formula.

We were definitely testing it because we were on the barrier reef and it gave lovely coverage, didn’t leave residue on our swimwear or clothes….and we didn’t get sunburned!

I love this product. It doesn’t leave a greasy feel but protects well. I’m not sure I’ll be buying it again though because it is quite pricy.

Hands down the best sunscreen I have ever used! Goes on easily (not greasy nor thick and pasty like some natural sunscreens), smells nice, and leaves my skin feeling clear and soft. The best part is it actually, fully works! I am pale enough that I still burn through traditional sunscreens. It wasn’t even worth becoming a stinky, greasy mess because I STILL got burnt after all that effort with traditional sunscreens. I love this sunscreen so much and it is worth every dollar!
